600W psu enough to oc 7950?

Just purchased all of the components for a budget gaming pc build and was curious if a 600W psu would be enough to oc a 7950. If so, would it be worthy of oc'ing and how would I know when to stop oc'ing. I want to be as cautious as possible. Also, on a tight budget as of now, but when upgrading the psu in the future, what would you advise. Thanks.

Not sure where you are getting that info... it has a 46A 12V rail

That's true but every psu states power rating the same way. For you to say that Corsair is dishonest then it applies to 90% of psu. Newegg and Corsair website show 46A on 12v rail. At that number 12v rail puts out 552W.

The problem is the CX600 comes in a ton of different versions. The one I posted is a V2, while the one shlomo4sho posted is some other version (note the absent 80Plus certification). The CX600 on Newegg matches the latter, but the OP may not be buying from Newegg, and it does say V2 in his post.

It's true that 12V wattage pretty much never matches total wattage, but the gap is pretty small for most quality PSUs. Corsair's CX line is one of the exceptions.

For the real prices they sell for (under $50) they are not bad. When you move up to $50 to 100 the psu are better, but not every one wants to spend the money or if you are not pushing the psu the CX psu are ok.

The way psus wattage are rated is a joke. You are right that the 12v rail is more important but are the amps peak or continuous and what temperature.

Furthermore, the model that you linked is also dated. The current versions are all bronze rated. The image I posted was from an earlier version as well.

Seems you are right. Conveniently enough the first thing that populated in a search for a "Corsair 600W V2" is the Newegg PSU.
