Just jumped into Telegram for dating purposes but I am a little afraid. Are there hackers and bots who try to make money on my back and how? By simple talking?

They will gain your confidence, speak all lovey dovey, set the hook and reel you in.

The friend I mentioned, met a "woman" via one of the many sites. They hadn't met in person yet. Just prior to that happening, the "woman's Dad" contacts the friend saying she is a minor. Says he is going to police unless friend pays for "woman's" counseling. Clearly a shake-down.

My ignorant friend...pays. He was a fool and knows it.

This was only the most egregious incident. There were others that are not suitable for this site.
