In order to see and feel 60fps in a game, I can get a 60hz monitor but can i get say 100fps on a 60hz monitor with FEELING and SEEING IT SAY i am over 100 fps on fraps or do i need a 120hz monitor so i can get over 60fps?

Thanks

Solution
^Absolutely.

The point is visibile difference!

There will be no visibile difference on a 60Hz monitor if you are having 60~100 or beyond fps.

To feel a difference, get a 120Hz monitor.

That is what I am saying. I have a GTX 770 which is (roughly) comparable to the 280X and HD7970 and yes, you'll see 70/80fps in most games for a while, but not long enough to warrant a 120Hz monitor in my opinion.

On Battlefield 4 at 1080p Ultra your card will be looking at 55/60fps max

You will feel and see tearing at anything above 60fps on a 60Hz monitor. Lock the fps at 60 and it will be smooth and tear free.
On a 120Hz monitor, anything over 60fps but under 120fps will show tiny amounts of stutter as some frames are drawn twice. Again, above 120fps will result in tearing unless you engage v-sync.

One point of note for those that can't muster a solid 60fps; the next step down for smooth stutter-free motion is 30fps (this is why consoles tend to try and lock to 30 or 60). However, with a 120Hz monitor, it also opens up 40fps as a smooth stutter-free option. Likewise, stutter-free 72fps and 48fps are available on a 144Hz monitor. It's all about matching frames rendered to frames displayed, if you want the smoothest output.
