64 bit with 4+1

if i have a laptop which has one stick of 4GB and 1GB each , making it 5GB, will i be able to install Win 7 64 bit on to it.?

Not true. I know that for a fact, since I'm running 64bit on 2GB right at this moment.
8GB RAM in a system with a slow CPU will lose every benchmark to a system with 2GB and a fast CPU.

and depending on your usage 2GB might work.
for me, no way..
and I know that you can speed your unit up if needed..

You can easily test it out yourself. Just drop your system down to 2GB and do some benchmark testing.
You'll be surprised at the results.
