I have 64bit OS and i have 4GB RAM installed...when i click on "my computer" and see properties,it shows only 3GB RAM and 1.98 GB usable....Why is that?
I have FX 8350,GA 78LMT USB3,HD7750 1GB

can someone help me explain it?

Solution
with motherboards there some overhead hardware wise so four gig of ram in windows show up 3-3.2g. also if the on-board video is on it use up some of system ram too.

Thank you for your reply but i solved the problem...quite strangely,i just re-inserted the ram in the slot and it again shows 4GB...
Can you tell me the reason of this occurence?

If you refer to your Motherboard manual, it will have RAM seating positions. For example, my motherboard's preffered seating on 2 Sticks is in Socket 2 and 4. They have a preferred seating chart for single, dual, triad and quad DIMM seating, not essential-but preferred for best performance.
And as the above stated, could of been a poor contact-dirty, incorrect seating...etc.
