65'C with my 7800 GTX!! Is this normal!!??

Hey, i've been playing FEAR on my new PC (4 days old) since it was built and ive noticed that my Xfx geforce 7800 gtx's temp. goes above 60'C (140'F) after roughly 35-40 mins of playing. Is this normal or is my card dying?? Plz help, thanks.

Looking at my nVidia display, I'm currently idling at 44°C and the default "slowdown threshold" is 115°C, so I'm assuming 60°C under load isn't bad.

I've got a Leadtek 7800gtx.

Also i really was expecting more from my GTX card because from what i had heard, it can take anything! This is not true cause when i try and play FEAR on not even max detail i get all these annoying little jerks every time i turn a corner or something happens!! Then when i check the performance it says im getting 43Fps minimum (177Fps Max) :? so whats going on? By the way the game ran excellent the first day i ran it on my new PC and it seems the only differance was that it was 3Fps higher (45Fps min)!!? Whats going on?

And Yes It`s True , Your Card is A Monster , And Can Take Everything , You Shold Be Able To Play FEAR at Maximum Settings (except SoftShadows) +at Least 2xAA Fine , Dont Worry , as prozac26 Said , FEAR Will do That . (any Way FEAR is a ATI Game :!: )

I have the BFG 7800GTX 256Mb and max out at 55c* while playing FEAR at highest settings. It's on air cooling but I setup my case with good ventilation and installed fan on the side directing cool air to my graphics card. But for that temps it's normal. 😀

im idling on 51c/ and 79c load. and its normal. although i am considering of buying a arctic cooling silencer as im a bit fussed with my temps and really REALLY want to unlock them 4 pipes 😀

thats with my 6800 GS @ 370mhz core/ 1050mhz memory

Mine is around the same as yours with softshadows and volumetric lighting effects on. But I usually turn this off to get over 60fps minimum while playing.

your pauses have to do with RAM. You need 2 GB of RAM.

The GTX is taken down by FEAR and COD2 -- thats why there are better cards out already... x1900xt or tommorow 🙂roll: 7900GTx)

What?! Ever looked on your FEAR case? It says "Nvidia, the way it's meant to be played". Now how's that for an ATi game?

Also, don't capitalize every letter ffs.

The 7800GTX being 65°C is perfectly normal. A OCed 7800GT can already reach 55°C so I wouldn't worry that much.

I have 2 gigs of RAM :? Would it be to do with the game patches? I still have the retail patch v1.01!
