I have a few old DOS games that run fine in Windows XP Command
Mode's DOS emulator and would like to know if they display OK using
a 6600GT?
A store clerk told me that the display will be fuzzy and slightly
out of focus using the 6600GT for old DOS games.

Amen to that! - the guy did say that he had several returns, with
that reason given, so I am hoping to get a response from someone who
still plays a few old DOS games with the 6600GT. I talked to tech
support at Leadtek and got the usual non-descript answer, since I
was considering a Leadtek card. Thanks for the response.

Duke Nukem plays fine for me on my 6600GT, under WinXP Pro w/sp2.
Great display, considering old Duke' over 10 years old.

Ah.The old,"Duke Nukem" :)

"I'm chewing gum and kicking ass and I'm fresh outta gum" 😀

Reading the newspaper and whistling has to be one of the funniest
moments I've ever seen in any PC game over the years ;-)

IMHO the best way to run old DOS games on new hardware to to use DOSBOX:
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/ There are several front ends available
as well (I use RobyDosBox).

I'm running it on WinXPprosp2. Started using it with SimAnt since the
text and fonts were all messed up in Xp cmd. Also, this fixes the often
lack of sound by allowing adlib and soundblaster (and more) emulation on
ANY soundcard. Many old DOS games do not recognize the newer cards and
DOS emulation in the drivers is often lacking these days.

As for the clerk, what an ass (the other posters were too polite) to
give advice when he doesn't really know the answer.
