6600K does bottleneck the GTX 1070, Im 100% sure that it does, I am so sure of this as in bf1 me and my friend on the exact same spec setup both saw the i5 6600k overclocked @4.2ghz reach 100% usage. The 1070 was working at around 50-70%. I had to turn settings down 2 medium to keep fps above 60. I am suprised more people havent spoken about this. I experience simular issues in watch dogs 2 or any cpu intensive games. but ofc some games that are less cpu intensive use the gpu to almost 100%

Idk what 2 say it cant be ram as my friend has 16gb and i have 8gb and we both get the same thing. I have been looking into this for quite some time but a bottleneck is the only answer.

Anyway im gonna pick up a 17 6700 and sell my 15 6600k and see if that makes a difference

might be some other problems aswell, i know bf1 is a little tricky. have u tried both dx 11 and dx 12 also make sure resolution scale isnt over 1. doesnt hurt to try with the i7 as u say. hope it works out gl

I wouldn't have believed that until recently but there is mounting evidence that is the case at high framerates.

You shouldn't be needing to do that to stay above 60 tho. I have an older cpu and get 90fps avg on 64-man conquest on high settings. It was even higher then they patched and it went down.

Ive seen that video (didnt realise the 1 i sent was @ 200%, but mine is 100% and i get the same issue) anyway im just gonna wait it out till the 6700 gets her then i can draw conclusions and confirm if it is the bottleneck
