There are plenty of reviews showing the GTX 660 Ti to be quite a robust performer. HardOCP has the Galaxy GC 3GB card as pretty much right there with the GTX 670, for about $70 less. Vortez has the Zotac AMP! beating the 7970 in several benchmarks. Guru3d has it beating the 7950 boost edition in more than half of the benchmarks. The list goes on. You should ditch that Tom's review and put your faith in just about every other review on the web.

I'm not sure the 650Ti even exists. :kaola:

Anyhow, We'll only find out in good time.

Well all things being equal I would expect the chip being called the GK107 to be a GK106 with a couple of SMX's disabled.
If it was a chip in its own right like the 440 was then it would or should be be GK108. This is what leads me to believe there is a GK 106 with 4 SMX's or 768 cores waiting to be introduced.
The only naming left to it would be 650Ti

Just guessing as you say we will see.

You forgot to mention that it could be a 192-bit-interfaced 1.5GB GDDR5 memory clocked at around 1200Mhz with a core clock of 900Mhz and 980 Quick boost.
Just completing the circle. Don't mind me :) I'm too excited about the 660Ti right about now.

what's the word on the updated GT 640 with DDR5 and boost.?
currently the DDR3 version is better than the DDR5 version but apparently a new one is in the works..

I've heard that this GDDR5 640 is just going to be rebranded as the 650.

Well, take a look:

http://wccftech.com/nvidia-launches-midrange-gk106-gk107-based-gpus-september/

Last of all is the GK107 based GTX 650 which is a GDDR5 version of the GT640 GPU featuring the same specifications of 384 cores, 1GB 192-bit memory and faster clock frequencies in addition to a 6 Pin connector to provide power.

To me that guy has yet to do or report anything of use to be considered a reliable source.

Really want to buy a card as i dont have one in my new build at the moment but not going to with a new release around the corner. Any idea what the 660ti will cost in GBP?

Im debating which card to go for if the 660ti turns our to be too highly priced, want a card that will comfortably play arma2/3 at a decent setting level.

Just too much speculation about the price at the moment. Best advice would be.. Just wait for the release.

Anyhow, i can give you this to think about>> speculated price, £200. :)

Well it would be nice to think that it will follow the trend.
680 around £400 on launch can now be had for about £375-£380
670 around £300 on launch can now be had for about £275-£280
660 Well probably not the £200 we would hope for due to the Ti on the end.
My feeling is it depends how badly Nvidia want to shake up both AMD and the market.
To have a guess I would say somewhere between £200 and £250
They have a gap between £80 and around £275 to fill and they have at a guess 1 more 640 card, 2x 660 cards and 2X 650 cards to fill it with could be more.
So £110 for the 640 GDDR5 £150 for the 650 £170 for the 650Ti £210 for the 660SE which leaves the 660Ti with a price point of about £240.

Thats just me guessing you understand, but it is educated guessing and not just stabbing in the dark. Could still be nothing like of course 😀

*slow clap* -.-

If its £200 that would be a brilliant price, sadly i see it being more 250 tbh.

It would be the latter, slow clap -- just for your information. 😛
