Will the 6700k work with the NOFAN CR-80EH given my case airflow (3*120mm 80cfm intake, 2*140mm 60 cfm top exhaust, 120mm 40 cfm rear exhaust). I'm aware that its a silly combination but I'm a sucker for silence and i love how it would look in my case (corsair 400c)

Using this for gaming at 1080p, maxed out graphics setting (gtx 1070), and no overclocking planned for a long long time

Slightly more than the acceptable range-- V8 GTS. I forget if it runs push/pull out of the box but I love it's looks and is configurable if not already setup for push pull so you can run them quieter. You really need a better cooler with the k CPUs. There's a reason Intel doesn't ship them with a stock cooler anymore.

would i need to do that though given my airflow? From what i understand the 80w TDP for the cooler is based on it being alone in an open air environment

If you're a sucker for silence--go with a cooler that has a 140MM fan on it and that will allow you to turn down all of the fans on your case to create less noise. If you want fanless, you need to turn all of your fans up in order to get the airflow to it. If you go with something that maxes out at say, 1300RPM but still pushes a lot of air, you can turn down all of the other fans on your case so you end up with either better acoustics or with at the very least similar acoustics. And a cooler processor.

Both k series processors are 95 watt, the only way to do this for sure is to either get a non k or be willing to down clock the me series. Also why are you so worried about a cpu fan, when you have so many fans in your case seems silly just pick one of the near silent cpu coolers. I'd either go full fan less or get a good cooler

well all of my fans if they were to run at max speed (which i doubt would be necessary for my purposes) would produce a combined sound level of 30dB (yes this takes into account multiple sound sources stacking) so I don't believe the case fans would ever be a problem for me. I agree with you that a cpu cooler with a fan would result in much better performance but I'm really picky about looks and dislike most if not all cpu coolers that i've seen within a decent price range (up to $75) so what i want to know is if the CR-80 would work under the given circumstances or if it would be a danger to my CPU.

i know that they're both 95 watt but CPUs dont run at max wattage all the time so what i was wondering is if the performance of one over the other would allow it to run cooler in general
