Whats up guys, new user here, I am also rather new to the computer building business so please talk anything stupid that I say with a grain of salt and correct me where I am wrong. I know this topic has been discussed and discussed on the boards and having read several of the threads I am still having some trouble understanding which CPU I should choose. I am in the process of putting together a parts list for a new rig. I'll only be using this for gaming but very frequently so, anyways down to brass tax. The build as follows:
CPU: ?
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer ATX LGA2011-3
GPU: GTX 1080 X2
Ram: 32G ddr4-3000 G.Skil Ripjaw series
Memory: Samsung 950 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 and A Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 850W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I'll also have a PCE-AC68 Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Adapter running as well.
Now from what little understanding I have of PCI-e lanes and how they are split up if I go with the 6700k the cards will be running in a 8x/8x configuration with the M.2 connector using the available PCI-e slots available on the board rather than taking them from the CPU itself. Having said that how does the wireless card factor into all of this as far as usage of lanes and causing a dip in my frame rate/performance of the video cards. I will be running on a 4k monitor. Would I be OK using the 6700k which overclocks very nicely and is what appears to be a incredible gaming CPU or do I need a CPU with more lanes so as I don't rob the performance of the new monster GPU's. Sorry for the novel, just trying to get all the details in now.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

My mistake, I would be referring to a 6700k on a z170 platform
