Question 6700k too high temps while gaming

hello recently . my cooler was deepcool maelstrom 120k . the temps on this cooler while gaming at stock 4.0 was above 75 and even hits 80 and 82 sometimes. i changed th thermal paste (cooler master gel pro) and no difference. then i decided to buy another cooler ( gammax gt) but still the same on stock with no overclock. temps is unstable and varies from 67 to 80 ( most times on 77 betweeen 80) on gaming for no reason. what should i do?

with the 6700K the max temp before thermal throttling is somewhere between 90C and 100C

80 degree is so hot for this cpu in stock frequency and gaming. according to benchmarks the with this cpu and this cooler temps should not go over 65 in games. and while overclocked to 4.5 the temps whill stay at 75 . so something is wrong . any solution?

what are your ambient temps... how is the airflow inside the PC... 2 fans front intake and 1/2 rear or top exhaust? is there any thing which restricts the amount of cold air that is available, enclosed area... small room.

room temps are about 17. yes the case air flow is good. two front fan. one rear fan and one 220 top fan. there isnt any air problem . so whats my problem could be form old windows?

or go into bios and set the CPU fan to 100%... it might be nosier, but then there is reason to believe the problem lies with the mounting of the CPU cooler, how much thermal paste did you use.

thermal paste is cooler master master gel pro and i already set the fans to100 %

and how much did you use.. the size of a pea and clamped the cooler on?... what are you reading the CPU temp with?
