I just got my new BFG 6800GS OC, and I ran it through 3DMark 06 today. I've never used 3DMark before, but I noticed that I was getting around 5-20 FPS on both tests, and I was wondering if that's normal, or something is just wrong with my card?

I did not complete all the tests, since once I got to the CPU tests I was getting 0-3 FPS, so I just quit.

Specs:

-Shuttle AN35N-Ultra mobo
-AMD Athlon XP 2600+
-BFG 6800GS OC (AGP)
-1GB (2x512MB) Kingston HyperX DDR400 PC3200 RAM
-Coolermaster Real Power 450W PSU

I do not want to say that your laying but I have not seen one CPU that went over 1 FPS in the CPU test on 3DMark2006. I am running an AMD64 3000+ OC'ed to 2Ghz and mine never goes over 1 FPS, the average is less than 1 FPS more like 0.547 ( example)

Run the whole benchamark.....

My system is :

AMD64 S939 3000+(1.8Ghz) OC'ed to 2GHz
Chaintech nForce4 Ultra
1GB MDT Value Ram ( 2x 512MB) running dual
Chaintech GeForce 6600GT PCI-E OC'ed to 550/1200
Seagate 120Gig SATA
500W PSU

I get around 2000 in 3DMark'06 on 1024x786 and 1860 on 1280x1024

Hey MTlink,

i have nearly the same rig as u! 😀
athlon 2600+ (runnin on 2800+ speed)
1GB kingston pc3200 ram, 2-2-3-5
BFG 6800 GS OC

:)

i havent even tried 3dmark 06 on me new card, but as it said (i think) it is the future benchmark, so not many systems that are out right now can even compete (unless you spend hell of a lot of money).

try 3dmark 2003. i got 9860 pts.

3dmark 01 SE- 14000+ ish (sorry cant remember exactly 😳 )

EDIT:

what temperatures does your 6800 run on?

Okay guys, thanks for the help. I never used 3DMark before so I just thought my new card was slow,

Scratch, I idle at 51 degrees Celsius and it never gets over 79 degrees Celsius under load. This is all under stock cooling and poor case ventilation (no intake fan, 1 90mm fan in backand 1 120mm PSU fan) Probably a little too hot but BFG has a lifetime warranty and I won't be doing any OCing, so I'm not worried.

Okay, I finished the whole thihng, and score 1992 - seems a little low to me. Also, another odd thing is that on the nVidia control panel it says my card is PCI? Hmm...

Regarding: card being 'reported as PCI' if it is really AGP

Install your chipset drivers for mainboard. (eg: Via Hyperion, nForce drivers, etc)

Confirm AGP Aperture is at least 32 MB (any setting under 32 MB actually disables base AGP features, such as Fast Writes and Side Banding, at the 'BIOS configures chipset level just after POST'), most video drivers, GART, and DXDIAG will confirm this if you try it. (Useful for some diagnostics).

Check in DXDIAG, Display tab, confirm AGP Acceleration, etc is enabled.

Chances are the above will sort it out, unless the program is just coded to say 'PCI, or PCI Express' all of the time.

You're supposed to get a lot of frame rates on the cpu test. I only get a 0 or 1 fps on my cpu and it even overclocked. That what cpu test are for, it doesn't performed well by itself because it is not a gpu. :?

Run and finished the benchmark and show us the results. 😀

Thanks Tabris.

Scratch, AGP Aperture is different from the amount of memory your video card has. If I remember correctly nVidia recommends that it's set anywhere between 32-128MB (64MB is probably best for most)

arh crap, iv set it on 256 ....

*checking the manual*

"The AGP Aperture should match the amount of memory on your BFG graphics cars."

mm?
