Question 7000x side fans

Good day guys and gals, I recently updated my PC case to the Corsair 7000x and I got all the components installed except the side fans. I got a 13700k, RTX 4080, Asus Rog Z790-E and H170i cooler. So my question is do I reallly need those side fans as I have 3 140mm fans on the front, one 140 exhaust and 3 140’s on the rad up top. Just looking for peoples opinions and would it make any big difference to cooling. Thanks

What sort of temps are you getting with your current setup? I would leave them as is if you're temps are acceptable.

To be honest I’m getting good temps I just don’t want to waste money on new fans if it’s not necessary. My CPU under load while gaming will spike to 90 with intels latest Bios update on default. But according to Intel that’s normal and acceptable for the 13700k.

GPU temp hardly goes over 65 on full load it’s a cool card Asus Tuff 4080 super.

That seems pretty good for having the heat from the H170i dumping it's heat into the center.
Looks like you have headroom there with no other place for the H170i.
To me adding the side fans would really only help the other components (overall inside temp) with no effect in lowering the Cpu temp.
If your top and exhaust are Rgb then you could add more Bling doing so.

My son's rig is in the 7000d airflow with 3x 140's fans front, 360mm top and 480mm rads cpu only custom loop because there are No Wblks for a str8 4070.
His 5900x runs low to mid 50's and the vertical mount gpu temps 58c - 63c.


And Before we added the 480 rad and vertical Gpu.

Nice setup I just under volted my CPU and got good performance with way better temps. So far so good. Hits 80 now under load instead of 90

with 4x 140mm exhaust fans and 3x 140mm intakes it would normally be exhausting too much and diverting a lot of the cool air intake from other areas of the case.
considering that the radiator is inhibiting some of the top exhaust that may level out the difference somewhat.

adding more intake fans can always be a benefit.
the more cool air intake the better since all other intakes can run at lower speeds and reduce overall noise generated.
if there is no noticeable noise then just don't worry about it.

you must have at least some decent airflow throughout if your CPU is hitting 80-90° and it's not negatively affecting the GPU temps too much.
just make sure all other components are staying within good ranges(disks, RAM, VRM, etc).

that's not necessarily a good thing.
the larger the interior, the more cool air intake it takes to properly circulate throughout.

while 80° may be safe with this gen of CPUs;
i would never allow anything over 70° with my own setup, no matter the CPU in use, just to keep all that excess heat from being dumped into my immediate area.

Well I might get the side fans added as well just to fill it up. I can under volt a little more anyway. I ran cinebench with a good score with no crashes so all seems good. Funny thing is Intel says anything under 100 degrees is completely normal then they increased the warranty to 5 years lol

"normal" as in the processor can supposedly handle the temperature for a sustained amount of time.

but you still have to figure that a lot of that excess heat is being removed from the system into the immediate area around it.
actually becoming a little heater around the area where the system is located.
i have my office door closed a large portion of the time and even 70°C makes the room very hot after a short while even with the AC temperature set pretty low.

i'd also like to see how many of these CPUs will still be functioning properly, or at all, after a few years of running that hot for any large portion of the time.
