[SOLVED] 720p on a 900p monitor looking ... worse?

Hello!
So, I have some old games that only get to 720p. The thing is, I have the impression that these games looked better in 720p on my 720p monitor than in 720p on my 900p monitor. Is this normal? Am I seeing things?

Because your 900p monitor is upscaling 720 lines to 900 lines, which means that every now and then, one line will be repeated so that all 900 lines can get an image to display. Same for horizontal pixels.

If you can set your monitor NOT to upscale, you'll probably get better visuals.

I get it now. That's unfortunate, because the screen gest blurry when the image is in 720p and when I select the monitor to not upscale the image gets too small.
