Hello All,

I am having trouble deciding on which monitor to buy. I play games like GTA at around 80 FPS and R6 that run at 150 FPS. At first I was going to buy a 75hz monitor but I felt that it would be a waste for first person shooters where I can reach double that easily. So I looked at a 144hz G-Sync monitor but those are around 250 Euro for me and that is a bit out of my price range. The question being, what if I got a 144hz (non G-Sync) monitor where I cap some games to 72fps using half-vsync? (or whatever it's called.) How smooth would half refresh rate gameplay be compared to 75 fps on a 75hz monitor (vsync)? For reference I have a 1660 Super and Ryzen 5 3600.

Thank you in advance :)

Solution
Buy a 144Hz FreeSync monitor. It will have a 48-144Hz refresh rate range, and will even frame-double below 48fps. Problems solved. FreeSync will work on your GTX1660 Super via DisplayPort cable.

Hey man thanks for replying! I never actually knew they started supporting Nvidia cards. That's interesting, thank you for telling me that! I'm shopping in The Netherlands and I'll look into the FreeSync monitors. Thank you so much man
