So far I narrowed down my video card options to the 7600GT. Then there are more options for the 7600 GT. Which brand would you guys perfer? Gigabyte, XFX, BFG, or eVGA?

Those are all great choices, as all of us have been around a while and make great products. You might want to check into each manufactures warranty and policies to better help with your decision. Our video cards come with a double lifetime warranty (US and Canadian Customer only). Also check out sites like newegg and tigerdirect to see customer reviews for the different manufactures as well.

My eVga 6800GT still runs like its new and I have overclocked it for the
majority of its life. I just built a computer for a friend with an eVga
7900GT and it runs great. I haven't had any experience with the others,
but I know for sure that eVga is a great company. And if you register
your video card with them, you can upgrade to a higher model with in 90
days for the cost of the card minus what you paid for the one you have.
It's called the Step-up program.

I had the Gigabyte one, I think they only make the silent pipe version now. If you choose that one make sure you realise it will take up a slot on either side of the PCIe slot, that sucker is wide! Works well though.

thus the silent pipe version from gigabyte doesn't produce any noise, unlike some of the others eg XFX? with small fans

merry christmas to all :)

Bought a BFG (3D Fusion) from Circut City this summer, ran it for a few months, overclocked very well, very stable and cool running card.

I'd get the EVGA 7600 GT KO. It's got the nice big quiet cooler on it, and it's factory overclocked. I have it and it's a quiet card, even with the fan at 100%. Might want to check the price compared to other 7600's though.
