7600K upgrade to 8700

I'm thinking about selling 7600K while it's still a good value and get 8700

Worth the switch?

Mainly for gaming, 60 Hz 2K res, 1070 Ti

Nope, 7600k is more than capable for 60 fps 2k gaming.

Can't think of a scenario where it would be remotely "worth it" for strictly gaming at 2k.

Best part of $400 for the new CPU + MB, and you'd recoup *maybe* $200 if you were lucky, selling your current CPU + MB.

There's just not $200 of gains (IMO) for 2K gaming.

Got a deal with 6700K for 215$

Shall I switch from 7600K? Basically I don't need to change the mobo, and there is 8 threads for future proof

If you really wanna upgrade then find a good deal on a 7700K.
It's not really making any sense to go back to an older CPU generation.

I agree that is better to buy newer product, but there is little difference between 6700K and 7700K in performance. Also 6700K can be overclocked, so it's useless to pay more for 7700K. Correct me if I'm wrong
