So i have an oportunity to get my hans on 2 gtx 690's. I am currently running 2 780s and my question is, should i sell my 780s to get the 690s?
The owner is asking for 1000 for both, he bought 2 titan z and well hes trying to sell his old cards. They both are still under warranty until late 2015.

Solution

I second this. The price/performance ratio for the 690s is also horrible. Also HAHA @ That owner buying 2 Titan Zs

A single 780 is as powerfull as a 690, so i dont think its worth to buy those 690's.

Edit: Sorry i though wrong, 690 its 15% more or less better in gaming, but 780 beats a 690 in computing. And dont forget that 2 690 will use more power.
Its up t you if you reallt want that 10-20% increase in gaming.
And 1 thing, are those gtx 780 or gtx 780 sli?

I wouldn't do it, they are dual GPU cards so running them in SLI (also known as quad SLI) is basically the same as having 4 GPUs. SLI doesn't really scale that well with 4 GPUs, and the RAM on the GTX 690s is also going to be a problem, they could even perform worse than two GTX 780s.

690 is not a 770 in sli, its 680 if im not wrong, and 770 its quite better than 680 :)
And i already edited, im sorry for my mistake.

The 770 is a rebranded 680

I don't understand how the same card can be better than the same card with a minuscule overclock but... Well whatever

I guess ill keep my 780s and just ad a water block and oc them. Thanks alot, i usually come ask when i cant make up my mind. Anyway i guess ill just use my money on a pg278q later this year.

It can be the same chip, but the 770 its newer and has some changes.
But ok lets stop this argument this doesnt answer the OP's question.
OP IMO i would stay with 780 sli, as someone said above, that proce for the 690 its too high and you wouldnt see really a HUGE performance boost.
