Hello everyone I have 2 people willing to sell me 2 different cards and I know that they are next to each other in series. The r9 280x ($115) and the r9 290x ($200). Now this may seem like an easy choice at least it seems to me (the r9 280x) but once in my life I bought a 550 ti for like $150 and I felt like jumping off a cliff. I want to know if (and I highly doubt) that the difference is worth $85 but I just want to be certain.

CURRENT GPU: (Radeon HD 7870) Worth upgrading for $120/$200?

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (1920x1080)

For only $200, the r9 290x is definitely the best buy and is probably worth the $85 difference. Which r9 290x are you getting though? If it's the original release version without an aftermarket cooler, you might want to stick with the r9 280x. The original r9 290x's had pretty bad heat issues.
