Hi all, when installing a GPU (in this case, a 7900xt), do you have to make sure the clip mechanism thingy (?) to the right of the PCIe slot is fully open? On my motherboard, the ROG Strix 650e-f, it doesn't seem to lock but it comes with a PCIe slot Q-Release button that, when pressed, temporarily 'opens' / unlocks the PCIe slot. Do I have to hold this button down whilst installing my GPU to keep the slot in an unlocked position or can I install it whilst it isn't all the way to the right? I have worded this terribly but thanks in advance!

basically make sure your pcie x16 slot clip is pulled back ( so yes push the button once to open the clip up ) then line the fingers ( pcb ) up on the card and gently push the card into the slot ( WOW hope there is no moderators on with that comment ) the clip will close over the pcb on the GPU !

it should lock over the pcb if not try doing it manually..

dont force the card but you can tell when its seated properly into the slot !!

hahaha mods should turn a blind eye, do I only need to push the button once? It opens and then returns to its natural position - do I not need to hold the button to keep it open? thanks

yes push the button once to open the clip once .. it should stay open !!
no you dont need to keep it open, it will close on it own ( which it is should do ) once the GPU is seated properly !!
