Okay hey guys,

I recently upgraded motherboards in the hopes of running 3x 7950s, since then those dreams have been dashed by bios problems between the existing 2 cards and the third card.
(all are 7950s just 2 identify as R9 200 series and the other 1 as 7900 series)

System Specs:
i7 3770K (currently at stock)
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
Asus P8Z77-WS motherboard
Corsair HX1050 PSU
2 PowerColor PCS+ 7950s (Tested)
120GB Crucial M500 SSD
AMD 14.12 drivers

Anyways since then I have just been trying to get my 2 Powercolor PCS+ 7950s to work together on this board, the problem is as follows:

If crossfire is working all is fine frame rates are good until, it black screens randomly, all screen lose display input or the last frame freezes, and all processing stops CPU, GPU everything. (This can happen while in games or just on desktop)

When I restart 95% of the time only one card will be at 8x and the other at 2x therefore crossfire will be disabled.

I believe the motherboard doesn't assign the PCI resources correctly to the cards, (this was a boot error for a bit but for now it usually boots fine) when I get into the OS I will either have one card at 8x PCI-E 3.0 while the other is at 2x or even 1x or both cards will be at PCI-E 8x (sometimes both at 16x) and crossfire will be enabled and working.

Any ideas guys?

For 2x cards make sure you have then installed in slots 1 & 2 (that's what the manual says to do). Also make sure you're using only one crossfire bridge if you're only using 2 cards (any more can cause issues).

Only have 1 CF bridge on and I've tested against the other 5 I have, hmmm ill try testing those slots again so far the best results have been slots 4 and 6 aka the black ones.

Okay I think I've found the problem, Thought I tested it to 100% but when I flashed both the cards 1 of them must not have taken to it, even with the dual bios, so I've just un-flashed it back to stock bios
