Hello everybody, i can't seem to get any display on my PC monitor with installing a upgraded Sapphire 7950 graphics card. The motherboard that i am using is a MSI k9n6gm series. Its supports 2.0 instead of 3.0, so technically the graphics card should work only work slower. I have tried everything and can't get it to display anything. Not even a bios boot up screen. I am using a dvi to vga adapter to obtain the signal into my analog PC monitor but no luck. My PSU is a Corsair CX 750 watts. The fans spin on the graphics card and looks functional, just no display. Is this motherboard to old for my graphics card?

I have applied the following possible solutions:

1) Checked all connections. Power supply PCI 6 Pin/ VGA connections.

2) Uninstalled old drivers.

3) Reseat graphics card into slot.

4) Disabled On Board graphics.

Still no luck, if i reinsert my older 512MB PCI graphics card back into my PC i get display. Is there any other possible solutions to fix this problem with getting the 7950 to work? Do you think i need to update the motherboard BIOS drivers?

Thanks for your quick response. I connected the VGA adapter into DVI-I slot on the graphics card. The adapter that comes supplied with the card only fits in this slot, so 100% connection type is correct. So that it can produce an analog signal for the LCD monitor. I can only connect via VGA, my monitor doesn't support dvi or hdmi connections.

I am sorry but i did not possess the knowledge to help you 🙁 The problem i encounter like you are often PSU problems as GPU itself is very very hard to have a defact but your PSU seems eligible to supply for HD7950...I suggest you take back for warranty,or ask them what is the problem that might happen and ask them test the card for you on the spot to see if the same problem occur...I am sorry i cant help you 🙁
