7970 or 7950

Hi, i'm building a new rig and one those two fits my budget:
Sapphire 7970 3GB GDDR5 HDMI RETAIL
Sapphire 7950 3GB GDDR5 HDMI RETAIL
Now the price for the 7970 is 486$ and the 7950 is 419$, that's a 67$ difference..
Should I spend the extra 67$ or it doesn't worth it?
and another question, will I be able to overclock them with the stock cooler?

Hi, if you have the money why not get the 7970? The 7950 (I have one) will almost certainly overclock past the performance of the stock 7970, but the 7970 will overclock WAY past the 7950 if you want to Depends how important the $ to you.

imo the 67$ difference is not worth it unless you are a real stickler when it comes to pushing every last fps you can. You can overclock with stock coolers, but prefereably if its not reference design.

Oh yea I should mention that I can play Far Cry 3 on ultra with 4 x Msaa on 7950 never dipping below 35 fps, if your wondering about performance with current games, I guess the 7970 will probably be a bit more future proof.

Wow, can you really play under 60fps?
as for the money, it's not an issue.. like I said both of them fit in my budget. but I think I'll go for the 7970 to be more future proof like Shady said.
