EDIT: I have solved the problem!
It turns out that I needed to update my Killer Networking software as it is known for increasing the non-paged pool memory to ridiculous levels.
Thanks anyway everyone!
Hello.
I bought a new laptop three months ago and I have just realised that RAM usage is insanely high whilst idle. In the past two weeks, web browsers have been operating slower than usual and I suspect it is because of whatever this is.
Basically, when my laptop is idle, 8 GB of the 16 GB is being used at all times. In task manager, I cannot see what process could be hogging this much of the RAM. Attached below are screenshots of the different tabs in task manager - one of them shows that my account is only using 1-2 GB of RAM.
I have Norton AV and am fairly certain that it is not malware.
Performance tab
Processes (taken with web browser open)
Details tab
Users tab
I cannot see anything different in Resource Monitor either.
I would seriously appreciate any help!
Thanks a lot in advance
