8 GB ram shows only 6.6 GB??? Tweak in some game!!!

Hello Gamers,
I have windows 8.1 64bit with i5-4570 & gtx 970......the ram i am using is TEAM 8gb @1600 mhz......In task manager it shows 6.6bg instead of 8gb where it shows HARDWARE RESERVED 1.2gb!!! In my computer>>properties it also shows 6.6 gb.........is that my GPU sharing memory or anything else.....oh btw DYING LIGHT tweaks at ultra in my rig??? plz suggest & owners of GTX 970 with 8gb ram are most welcome (whats your memory status)!!??

Your GPU has its own memory.

Something in your PC might be using that much RAM, what programs were you running when this happened?

i was using chrome.......but thats not the point! in my computer properties it shows that out of 8 gb memory only 6.6 gb is usable........ http://imgur.com/ImesbAZ,tTgR5ej#0

Yeah exactly, something is using that much RAM.
I don't know if required programs are using it or something is using that much RAM and it is hidden.

Same with my other PC, I can only use 5.74GB of RAM and I don't know what's happening. And I realized it is my programs that I absolutely need to run.
