Hi!

I have a 6700k at stock frequency with a Cryorig M9i. I was stress testing with Prime 95 (v26.6) and after 10 minutes in a Small FFT my temps in CoreTemp were around 80°c on the hottest core. Even tough my cooler isn't the best for oc, my temps should be lower since my CPU is at stock, with turbo disabled. What confuses me is the fact that the temp in Ai Suite was at a steady 68°c, and a max of 69. Idk which is the real deal. All other monitor programs like afterburner and HW Monitor have the same readings as CoreTemp. Idk if I got a faulty CPU or if it's a mobo thing with its sensors or maybe it's an os issue. I've updated the BIOS to v2202 from 1902 and nothing changed. Btw, ambient temp is around 26°c.

Specs:
I7 6700k
Asus Z-170 Pro (not the gaming/gaming aura, just the Pro version that looks like a Deluxe/Z 170 A)
16 DDR4 Ripjaws 3200mhz
Win 10 Pro 64 bit v1511.

Solution
Asus software must be reading a different sensor then, IMO.
But 80C at stock under load is about right with that ambient temp.
It should run cooler under normal gaming loads.
