So my dad asked me to make a Pc for him... he's not a gamer and uses his computer for word, excel and the internet. while I know how to assemble the Pc I suck at choosing parts and often get ripped off for doing so.

Here's what I need

A ssd (128gb or less, maybe 64)
Low end gpu (5450 perhaps or gtx 210)
Windows 8
Fastest cpu (spend lots on this)
8 or 16gb ram.
A simple yet durable full metal mid tower or mini tower case. Spend up to 70 on this.
Reliable psu (no logisys, diablotek)

I know that this is overkill, but he hasn't purchased a Pc since 2004, and it's falling apart. He wants a Pc that will last him a long time, possibly up to 15 years. He has a brand new keyboard and touchscreen and his old Pc runs windows 8.1 32 bit but gets really hot and is really slow.

Sorry I had to tupe this on a phone

Thanks

If you want you can change the case to a corsair 200r.

Solution
While this is somewhat overkill for a "Dad's PC", it should last for a long time s, this is my suggestion:

I've come up with this so far. No GPU needed-integrated in CPU.

If you want to you can add a CPU cooler just to keep temps down and maximize CPU lifetime.

If you are not into gaming then you don't need dedicated graphics card. Still as it is your requirement, check this build:

For storage I've selected best ssd + very good hdd

Only for your requirement I've selected GT620 GPU [You don't need it]

Because this PC will be used primarily for desk work so there is no need to invest more into powerful CPU that much. I give you Intel i5 4570 which is quad core CPU and is plenty for your requirement. To be honest you'll be much better off with i3 but that is your call to make.

Gigabyte mobo and corsair ram as per your requirement.

You don't need aftermarket coolers for this CPU so save some bucks.

Seasonic PSU is good enough for your requirement. Actually 400W is like an overkill for this build. This PC merely needs 300W.
