Question 8700k reaches 93C OC'd to 4.6ghz @1.25volts with an NH D15

I had a 240mm AIO that I sold off because it couldn't overclock my 8700k at all. I bought an NH D15 to replace my Deepcool Captain 240 ex RGB. I managed to get a stable overclock (settings in title) with my NH D15 albeit, it reaches 93C as a package; 95C on the hottest core. Should I delid the CPU at this point?

Can you afford another CPU if you break yours?
Why is 4.6/4.5 not fast enough?
Is there a benefit to you from going faster?
How optimised is your OC?
These are all questions only you can answer, no-one can tell you 'yes you should'.

Well, 4.6ghz at 90+C is not a very viable overclock. I'm pretty much stuck at stock with these temps unless I delid. It's already hitting the mid 70s ti 80s at stock with prime95.

I assume you are using the older versions of prime (pre-AVX), I assume you've attempted to reduce voltage, I assume you've got good airflow in the case, I assume you're using a decent fan speed and not trying to run silent?

100% rpm at 75C. I'll try lowering voltage. What would be an acceptable prime95 small fft temperature to run an oc 24/7?

depends on the version of prime (and this is really really important)

If you've not tried to lower the volage yet then you really need to start from scratch, read up on OCing the old way and optimise the OC so that you get the highest clock speed at the lowest voltage and hence temp.

I've got v29.7 build 1. I did try lowering voltages but windows kept blue screening. At some windows stopped registering my mouse clicks so I had to reset windows.

I tried 4.6ghz @1.25v and it ran for a good 20 minutes stable.
