8800 GT G92? which one

That page shows a 8800GT G92 OC 660mhz, 1900mhz. it shows getting 30 FPS on Oblivion maxed at 1920x1200.


which card is that really?

I see 3 8800GT models that are OCed on the EVGA website:

and I was looking at this one on newegg:

its 10mhz slower and does not say G92.

so I guess my question is, which 8800GT is the g92 version in that benchmark?

The Oblivion benchmark does not show an 8800GT, by the way.

All 8800GT's are G92 chips. You just have to watch the GTS's cause the old ones are G80's with 320 or640MB or RAM and the G92's are 512MB's.

The OC cards are the same as the stock cards unless they have a different cooler. They just have the firmware set to a higher clock speed.

Agreed unless it has a different cooler you can achieve the same results yourself and save 20-40 bucks. If I were to pay extra for a card it would be for more ram or a better cooler.

Not all 8800 GT have 512MB Memory.
Carefull when ordering.

Get this one if you want to oc. The aftermarket cooler on it is as good as g92 8800gts's stock dual slot cooler. 8800gt with stock one slot cooler suffer from heat problems, and do not oc well.

I concur with the above 8800Gt if you want to spend the extra few bucks. The Gt's don't have great stock cooling. Although they run ok with a mild OC and good case flow. But you are right the better cooler will allow a much heftier OC. I was just looking at a low cost GT for the OP.

All clock rates are stock. Go to Nvidia's site to find out. Factory oc is same as do it yourself oc. Do it yourself.
