Discussion What are your thoughts on the prebuilt systems from System76 ?

What are you thoughts and opinions of the desktops, laptops, and such from System76?

I'm personally interested in their Thelio Mega case. As the name suggests, the Mega is the largest PC offered and tailored as a workstation engineered for deep learning and scientific computing. It seems like all their models share the same airflow design, but I don't believe they sell just the case itself. The Nebula49 case would be an alternative.

Their laptops seems a little expensive as well, though some of them have a more boxy design reminiscent of older Thinkpads.

You might know that System76 are also the creators of Pop_OS, and each machine has either Pop or Ubuntu preinstalled. You could probably install Windows or another OS yourself if you wanted to.

Expensive. Nice appearance and features. At least via pictures, build quality looks good as well.

Lot of money unless you need that sort of processing capability.

I don't believe they sell just the case itself

it's been a while since i've personally been in involved in many workstation/server builds.
the latest nice option i've actually seen in use is using the Enthoo Pro 2 Server Edition case.

Those are my thoughts as well, I won't even use a $4,000 workstation as intended.

That is indeed a nice case. Of course, I don't exactly need all of those features.
