Just have a few questions about running 8800GTX 768MB in SLI. First of all i got these really cheap ($20 each).
I'm looking at building a computer around these as i'm leaving home soon and cant take the family computer.
I asked opinions on the build I was thinking of awhile ago which involved these components
Phenom II X4 955BE
4GB 1333mhz DDR3 RAM
AMD 6870
I havent bought any of the components yet (except the 8800GTXs that seemed too good to pass down).
Is it worth running these in SLI and waiting for the 7000 series or 600 to come out? or just get the 6870
If they worth waiting for, do you think the Phenom II X4 955BE would be a bottleneck to the newer GPUS? (I'll be looking at CF or SLI later on with them)
And the last two questions. Whats a good motherboard that can do both SLI and CF? Also what wattage power supply would be enough to run these two GPUs, and later on, two newer GPUs?
Sorry bout all the questions but dont want to spend money and realize i have to spend even more money upgrading a component later on.
