8800GTX vs X1950XTX preliminary benchmarks out

Not true due to the fastest ATI crossfire with 2 gpu is on the 1900XTX's using CF. This setup is second in the chart and the 1950XTX is sixth.

Um, first off, crossfire X1950XTX is first on that chart. But, that is HL2 episode 1 at 1024x768 with no fsaa even. :lol: Those numbers don't mean a thing. A single X800XL is putting out almost 100fps in that chart.

True but as Synergy6 pointed out 2 X1950XTX's would require more power than 1 8800GTX. Two X1950XTX's may have a higher price than 1 8800GTX Nvidia. I was only stating theres a better 2 card setup to compare against the 8800GTX. On the other hand 2 X1900XTX's should be priced about the same as the 8800GTX and have close to the same power requirements.

To be honest though this benchmark is pretty meaningless, just like 7800GTX vs X850PE was when the 7800GTX came out.

Yeah, it owned it, no, it wasnt surprising.

Lets hope R600 isnt as late as x1800 was, as for the next couple of months nVidia is the undisputed performance champion.
