Hey guys,
So my fiancée just bought me an awesome new laptop, the Lenovo Y700 . The model I got comes with 8GB DDR4 memory. My current laptop has 16GB DDR3. This brings me to 2 questions..
1.) Will DDR3 memory work in a laptop that came with DDR4 memory? Not sure if it will even physically fit let alone be compatible.
(If not, disregard the next question)
2.) Assuming speed/latency and everything was the same (not near my laptop nor the order page for my new one - will update with their speeds), would I be better off leaving the 8GB DDR4 or swapping with my 16GB DDR3? Not sure if there's a big enough difference between the two for the 8GB gap.

Edit: The 8GB DDR4 is 2133 MHz. I believe the 16GB DDR3 is either 1866 MHz or also 2133 MHz. Will confirm ASAP but we'll base it off those numbers as of right now.
