8GB Hardware Reserved Memory, 16GB Installed, only 8 Usable

I have 16GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz DDR3 Ram installed in slots 1 & 3, as described in the motherboard manual for dual channel, yet recently I noticed just 8GB is usable, and another 8GB is 'hardware reserved'
Motherboard - Biostar TA970
CPU - FX 8350

Go to msconfig/boot and clicked on the advanced button. You will see a spot for maximum memory and you can adjust that figure to give your pc access to more or all of your ram.

Go to msconfig/boot and clicked on the advanced button. You will see a spot for maximum memory

Make sure the box with it is unchecked.
