Hey,
I bought new two RAM sticks a few months ago, and it worked and it was showing up as 16GB usable RAM in Task Manager. Later this week i noticed that my Chome was kinda slow and i checked the Task Manager. And now there is only 8GB of usable RAM and the other 8GB is Hardware Reserved.
In the BIOS it also only shows 8GB but all of the Sticks are detected successfully as 4GB sticks. All of the sticks are the exact same. The only difference is, that they were bought two years appart from each other. How do I have 16 GB of usable RAM again?
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: GTX 1060
RAM: 4x G.Skill 4GB 2400 mhz
MOBO: MSI b350 gaming plus
PSU: BeQuiet 450Watt gold plus

Thanks for helping me.

Solution
You are fortunate that you got it to work.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
The internal workings are designed for the capacity of the kit.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards, can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when more sticks are involved.

If you have problems again, enter the bios and see if you can increase the ram voltage a bit.
That sometimes helps with stability.

Also, see if your motherboard has a bios update that addresses ram stability.
