Thanks for the offer Graham, you DO mean 50 to 100p per cap though,
right?
I was pricing them up the other day and by the time you put in a
minimum order etc they were going to cost somewhere in the region of
£15 ex delivery to replace the lot! I think this was at RS. It`s not
really worth it when you consider that a new MB can cost as little as
£20. Having said that, if I can get the caps cheap enough then I
really want to do the repair.

Unfortunately no, if I had one, I`d give you it

>Hmmm...
Yeah exactly, here`s what they said:
"I am afraid that all mainboard 8KHA+ are outside of warranty period
and that as such all capacitors used are outside of their endurance
scope for 20% tolerance. I am afraid that we are therefore unable to
offer further assistance in this instance."
I replied:
"Thanks, but are you saying that the capacitors used by Epox are not
designed to work within tolerance after only two years? These
capacitors are almost ready to burst open, I have counted 19 in total
which are either leaking or bulging at the tops and sides, surely they
should last much longer than this."
To which they said:
"All capacitors have an endurance period, and post endurance tolerance
whether in use or on the shelf they degrade with age and environmental
and usage factors."
Yeah, who are they trying to kid? I might try Epox nl now and see if I
get any joy out of them, somehow I doubt it though.
