In its default jumpered (2 jumpers) configuration, I found that sound output
at the rear was mono, the second channel was silent. I took the jumpers out
and attached the wires from the front panel sound jack to the MB sound pins
, and I got two channel normal output. Has anyone had this type of problem
with the 8knxp (mine is ultra). Because I wanted sound at the rear only, I
put in PCI sound card and it works find.

Ideally I want two channel sound coming from the MB at the rear, whch seens
like to best choice to make. Has anyone seen my problem and know how to fix
it.

Hi,

Just hooked up the same motherboard (ultra) and installed Windows XP
and with the default jumper settings it gives stereo output at the
back. It should be something with your motherboard, may be a loose
soldering or a loose connector inside the stereo jack.

Thanks.
