Hi, im bulding this system in a few days (case is in shipping)
Ryzen 9800X3D
Asus X870E-E Gaming WiFi
RTX 5080 Astral Asus
Corsair Vengeance 2x32gb DDR5 6000mhz Expo CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30
Ive read older bios on this board had a ram and cpu voltage with 1.4v rams like mine problem that got corrected by asus in bios 1401 (theres newer ones with conflicting reports on stability, i dont know if i should go with 1401 or just do the latest)
Can I post and immediately update the bios before getting to windows? Or should i boot into windows (will use my previous pcs install, no format) first? Maybe even install the chipset driver before updating the bios, or does it not matter to the bios when the chipsaet driver is installed? Im trying to minimize the time the cpu is exposed to a "bad" bios (my board was made in february, before the fix was deployed) with 1.4v ram sticks. How should I approach this? Does it matter if the cpu is ran on a pre-fix bios for a while or should i immediately jump into updating? Is it better to do this after a first boot to check on windows running fine? Do i install chipset drivers before or after bios update, or does it not matter? Thanks!
Ps I know you can install a bios without a cpu with just the mobo plugged in but it terrifies me to have the process so hands off and i really dont want to put eveything but the cpu together to see it happen on screen w no cpu
