hello guys,

I have ASUS RT-N11P Wireless N300 Router.
router's system status shows cpu usage of 0% and ram usage of 90% . Used - 26MB; Free - 3MB; Total 29MB. I only have 1 wan connection to router and 1 laptop on wireless connection.

should I be worried about this? isn't 90% of ram usage dangerous for lifespan of router?

thanks

Your router is most likely fine. Reboot it and check how much memory is free/available after using it for a few minutes to get a better idea of what might be normal on it.

The amount of free memory should have no effect on lifespan unless your firmware has a memory leak, in which case you may need to reboot it more frequently.

On my N66U, the router uses around 57MB (out of 256MB) after rebooting. The main reason newer routers have so much spare memory is because 4Gbits DRAM chips cost almost the same as smaller DRAM chips so it makes little sense to bother with smaller chips.
