Yes, I know this is super bottle necked... but only 90fps in csgo?
I know cs is cpu intensive but I have a feeling it can do more than 90
I dont have anything else open besides discord- and all my settings are low.

Also, I need to upgrade (obv) and besides the obvious ryzen 3600 which would cost atleast 350 with ram mb and cpu- what alternatives are there?
My mb is, I think, not very good. Don't specifically want to go the 4790k route.
Maybe I will just have to yoink a combo when new zen launches?

Solution
If you want to upgrade right now, id look for a GOOD b450 from a company that has already announced it will support ryzen 5000 on its 400 series motherboards. You could pair this with something like a ryzen 3 3300x or ryzen 5 1600. 2x8gb of 3600mhz RAM can be had for like 60$ right now on Newegg USA.

edit: its like 250$ for these 3 pieces, but youd have to wait til January for BIOS support for the b450 chipset to support the ryzen 5000.

This is gonna be a HUGE boost in performance for you...

2070:
3DMark Basic: 6,593
Graphics score: 9,462
CPU score: 2,415

1050ti:
3DMark Basic: 2237
Graphics score: 2236
CPU score: 2246

I'm hoping I can easily find a combo mb and 3600 for around 200 near launch. then ram for 85 and thats much better than 400

Low settings aren't going to help; low settings reduce the load on the GPU, not the CPU.

Upgrading your your CPU while retaining your current motherboard and RAM would probably help a bit, but not enough in my opinion. You should save for a modern motherboard/CPU. Not a whole lot else you can do.

This is gonna be a HUGE boost in performance for you with a viable upgrade path. Might be wise to splurge on a 4000mhz memory kit instead of the 3600mhz if youre dead set on going to ryzen 5000.

Have you always gotten 90FPS in CSGO with this CPU? I used to have a 4690k and would get around 144FPS. I was and am still using a 1070ti. I moved over to a 3700x this summer from my 4690k only because I noticed my 4690k would stutter in some newer games. Now no more stutter with the new set up.

4 months ago I picked up a 4790 for $125 on ebay to replace an i3. Your 2070 video card does not belong with your gen 4 processor. As long as you are using gen 4, you are CPU limiting it. The best you can do without upgrading that aged CPU is just getting the fastest one from Gen4 - the 4790, or 4790k and overclock it.

Edit - I defrayed the cost by also selling the i3 for $25. Watch the CPU/MOBO combo section on ebay, you can score a generation upgrade there on the cheap too. You could re-use you own memory.
