Hi guys

I've been reading a lot of reviews regarding the subject, but would like your input.
I want to get a m.2 SSD, but my mobo (Asus Maximus Hero VI + i7 4770K) doesn't have a m.2 slot.

My question is, Should I get the Intel 750 400Gb PCIe card, or would a Samsung 950 Pro 512Gb m.2 with an adapter be better? (the capacity isn't a big concern, only speeds).

In case of an adapter for m.2 over PCIe, which one would be best for the 950?

Regards!

I have the 950 pro with the asus hyperx adapter (https://rog.asus.com/14362014/product-news/asus-hyper-m-2-x4-pci-express-gen23-to-m-2-x4-ssd-adapter-card/), and it works well. I got it for $20 at a local store.

In terms of speed, I'm sure you can just decide based on benchmarks (I haven't tested the intel one personally)

950 PRO:
Flash Memory Type: Samsung V-NAND
Max. Read: 2500 MB/s
Max. Write: 1500 MB/s
Max. Random Read 4K: 300000 IOPS
Max. Random Write 4K: 110000 IOPS

INTEL 750:
Flash Memory Type: Intel 20nm MLC NAND
Max. Read: 2200 MB/s
Max. Write: 900 MB/s
Max. Random Read 4K: 430000 IOPS
Max. Random Write 4K: 230000 IOPS

Both will be way faster than anything you will probably need it for so go for the cheapest one!
