I just bought ARK on steam and it appears to be a somewhat large install. I don't have room left on my 960 evo 500gb. I figured I'd look and see what is out there as I believe my motherboard will handle a second m.2. The 970's seem to be cheaper than the 960's. The plus seems to be cheaper than the not plus. I'm a little confused. Thanks for any clarification.

Yes, the Samsung drives are at the top of everyones list.

My comment referred to not needing, or seeing any benefit, with an NVMe drive (Samsung 970 EVO), vs a regular SATA III SSD (Samsung 860 EVO).
You'd be paying a lot more money for the same drive space, for no actual game benefit.

Let's pretend money is no object. Why is a 960 more expensive than a 970 which is more expensive than a 970 plus? Seems like the list ought to go in the opposite direction.
Price no object, get the 970 EVO or EVO PLUS.

1TB

860 EVO - $148

970 EVO PLUS $248

970 EVO $278

960 EVO $375

The performance difference for a second drive, in a game machine - Zero.

The 960 may be more $$ from particular sellers, because Samsunbg doesn't make them anymore. Limited supply.
