960 gtx 4gb or 3.5gb?

Solution
1. It has real 4GB, so does 970. 3.5GB on 970 runs at full speed rather than entirety of 960
2. No, because 3.5GB of 970's RAM runs on 224 bit bus, the entire 4GB VRAM on 960 runs at 128bit. Besides the core count on 960 is still much less than 970, so there is very little reason to expect 960 4GB will be close to 970.

Solution
It is a few manufactures who are putting out the 4GB version, only one I've heard of doing it was EVGA, I would think it is a real 4 GB, these companies have seen what Nvidia went though, they aren't making the same mistake so soon lol. The card has a lower clock speed and a half sized bus at 128Bit, it is highly unlikely it will perform better than the 970.

Asus, msi and gigabyte are doing it too.

Not by a lot. Going by 960's MSRP $200, a 4GB one might be around $250 or there abouts? 2 would give $500, which is 10% away from 980.

if 2 960's is going to be significantly cheaper than a 980, it'll have to be pretty close in price to 960, a bit too close
