960 Sli, 970 or 980?

I need a major upgrade from my single 660 and wondering which card to get, either the 960 in sli, a 970 or all out and get a 980 as I am looking forward for Dying Light coming out this Tuesday.

What do u guys recon I should go for? Bering in mind I play on one 1080p monitor at the moment. I will also be overclocking the hell out of the card(s) so yea there's that.

So what should I go for?

A single 970 will be sufficient for your resolution.

Keep in mind that overclocking gives only 5 or so FPS.

Just like wallaby said, gtx 970.

Try avoiding SLI because it is prone to issues with lag. And the gtx 980 has a bad price to performance ratio.

That depends, i was able to overclock my gt 540M and got an extra 10fps.

True, but in most cases I haven't seen that large of a boost. That's all I wanted to say.

Sweet, thx guys. Also I know overclocking only improves fps a little but I might as well try to squeeze as much performance I can for my money. Plus its fairly easy to do.

980 is overkill for any 1080p setup. 970 will be just fine and even a tad overkill itself. If you plan on getting a 1440p monitor in the future than the 980 would be a good choice.
