9600xt Problem?

Computer Spec.
Amd XP 2000+
Biostar MB
768 DDR pc 3200
Ati Radeon 9600xt

This problem occured recently while making an upgrade from a geforce 3 to a Ati Radeon 9600xt. I installed it, turned it on, and saw rows of weird lines while the system went through the boot up process. Installed the drivers and they're still there. Plus, now i can't even see windows, i get through the boot up process but then the screen goes black right before i enter windows?
Any ideas?

Pull the card out, and stick it back in. Make sure it's in all the way. Make sure the VGA cable is tight. If you still have problems, the card is most likely defective.

Yeah I think I've tried just about everything now. But, Ati is being a pain in the ass to get a hold of. Thanks for the info.
