Question 970 evo compatibility

Was wondering if the gigabyte h110-d3a motherboard compatible with the 970 evo m.2 ssd? i bought the ssd and it wouldnt show up on my pc and my computer kept bringing me straight to bios but nothing would show up in my boot order when the ssd was in but when out it worked like normal.
