970 vs 1070 (easy upgrade?)

Hi, as some of you know the gtx 1070 is coming out and I'm thinking of upgrading. I'm really just wondering if it will be easy and seamless to upgrade (my current specs - gtx 970, 8gigs of ram, i5 4590, 750 w power) Will i have to upgrade anything else?

Are power requirement specs out yet for gtx1070? Haven't seen those.

But yes - if PSU is sufficient, then just swap one card for another plus maybe a quick driver reinstall
and you're good to go.

Cool. GTX1080 requires 500W PSU, so GTX1070 will require even less.

GTX 1070 looks pretty advanced, but don't freak out so much just yet, gtx 970 will serve you well for another 2 years or so, making you upgrade to volta GPUs,which will be even more advanced.

Sure but I think I can sell my 970 for a nice price to my friend so it will only cost 50-100 dollars max to upgrade and that is sort of something I can and am willing to spend

The MSRP on the new 1070 is going to be 379 dollars. Are you saying that someone is going to pay full price for your 970? No way, I don't see that happening.

The original price for my gpu is 350-360 usd and they are willing to pay a little less (somewhere like 300-320) so yes they are going to pay a rather similar price, regardless I have enough to spend 50-100 dollars
