I am going to be buying 980 gtx soon and I am eyeing to get ulmb ips monitor wishing they release 1080 24 inch version soon too. Thus I require around 100fps average to maintain ULMB at 85hz all times so will single 980gtx be able to do that at 1440p for current monitors or at 1080p if newer ones release? I can go with no aa and/or low no shadows to maintain the fps or anything else which improves on existing information of visuals but I will not lower textures or other things which give more visual information to the scene. The reason I want ULMB should be clear that I want motion clarity with good colour and viewing angles I have bad eyes which requires these features to see better.
Secondly since directx 12 will be coming near the end of this year, I want to know how much will it help to existing games by using backward compatibility for directx 11 and lend it some features to it which are hardware based to give more fps? Will 980 gtx give me all the hardware to have all the benefits of directx 12?
Or Should I just wait out for pascal? will it be able to do all of the above?
I won't be able to upgrade for next 5 years so I can wait to invest better.
