why does everyone take this nvidia vs ati thing so personally? lol. blackhawk, just to simplify your life for you, i'd go with nvidia because of the sli potential. thats the best advice i can offer

can i just ask i know this forum has been off for 6 months now but i just want to say that GTX means there are 3 GPUS in one, and no games support it at the moment (except some recent games), which means there will be more problems than a GX2 card. and also just because a GX2 has 2 GPUS in a card doesn't mean its SLI. i looked at a video which had the 9800GX2 vs GTX280 vs 9800GTX vs HD 4870 all competing against each other and he tested them on crysis and as i was watching the 9800GX2 had the most framerates. he even tested them out in over games like Dirt and the 9800GX2 still conqered them all. but that was only a 9800GX2 512MB. i have a 9800GX2 1GB and it has just a bit more framerates (about 3-5 FPS more than the second fastest GTX280, and the GTX280 was a 1GB). im not trying to start a fight but im just saying that the 9800GX2 has more performance, but only a little bit more.

WTF, nothing true here.

GTX = 3 GPUS ? WTF ? NO !

GX2 = 2 GPU's - YES , SLI -YES (inside the card)

9800GX2 1GB = NO !!! They ALL use ONLY 512mb (because it is SLI !)

... this post was really .....

GTX280 and 9800GX2: upgrading from 9800GX2 to GTX280 is ... not good but buying a new GTX280/275/285 instead of 9800GX2 is very good choice !
